General Results

Grasp the frame, cultivate it

Project Groups is a small-group classification that divides the 32 types into 4 by the kind of projects (how tasks are set up and pursued) people undertake. The General Results group is a group that grasps things in large chunks and cultivates them.

The Character of This Group

In the primary source, this group is described as follows.

This group is the exact opposite of the previous one. These types are the "coarsest" in their approach to information, taking it in in large chunks and disliking going into detail. The style of this group is projects of training and education. The junction of the scientific and the humanitarian. Characterized by "approximation" ── moving from vague contours toward more concrete results.

── From V. Gulenko, "Waves of Aging and Renewal ── Directions of Progress Linked to Jungian Aspects" (1996)

"Approximation" is an approach in which one first grasps the finished form intuitively in broad strokes, starts from vague contours, and gradually draws closer to the concrete. The General Results group first grasps the overall picture and result in one stroke, then takes deductive thinking that descends from it. Their concern turns to "for what (purpose)."

This style appears most clearly in the field of training and education. They foresee the destination and lead and cultivate people and things in that direction. Their strength is the power to see through to the essence and the goal without being buried in detail; their weakness is that, grasping in broad strokes, the follow-through on detail tends to be loose.

The General Results group is determined by the combination of perception (Intuition) and approach (Result). Process unfolds matters divergently, opening them up; Result narrows down convergently, finishing them.

AxisMeaning
IntuitionPerception that grasps the possibilities, essence, and overall picture behind the object
ResultAn approach that draws boundaries and brings things to completion. It grasps the overall picture first, narrowing down (convergently) from frame to detail

Model K Sub-classification ── Static / Dynamic (Ni / Ne)

This group is further divided into two by the nature of the perceptive function (static / dynamic). For intuitive groups, this corresponds to whether the leading intuitive element is Ni (intuition that grasps continuously and temporally) or Ne (intuition that grasps discretely and spatially). Ni traces events as a single flow of time and causation, drawing them together toward one point. Ne spreads possibilities as discrete options laid out simultaneously. In the Model K Q/D system, each pole contains 4 types.

Dynamic (Ni) ── Continuous, Temporal

Under a temporal outlook, they identify tasks whose moment has ripened and tend to drive them forward with momentum.

Static (Ne) ── Discrete, Spatial

Within the spread of possibilities, they tend to take on unexplored, difficult tasks.

※ This static / dynamic division is common to all 4 groups, subdividing Project Groups overall into 8 sub-groups. The above indicates tendencies at the group level and is not a definitive statement about individual types.

Internal Structure ── Average Comfort 42.9

The 8 types of the General Results group are not a tightly-bound group sharing values like a Quadra. Alongside Compass, Belonging, Kindred, and Resonance relations, the group also includes tense relations such as Quasi-Identity and Codependency. It is a practical gathering of people in different positions bound together by heading toward "the same kind of project."
