His strategy of patient waiting — "endure and be patient" — across decades became legendary. His sons and grandsons completed the founding of the Jin dynasty. The supreme figure of the strategist who outlasts the genius he faces, Sima Yi vs. Zhuge Liang remains the most celebrated strategic confrontation in Chinese history.
