18th-century German philosopher. He systematised epistemology, ethics, and aesthetics in the three Critiques — the Critique of Pure Reason, the Critique of Practical Reason, and the Critique of Judgment. His moral philosophy of the "categorical imperative" became the foundation of modern ethics. He is known for spending virtually his entire life in Königsberg — the apex of modern philosophy.
