Sam Walton

Retailer / Founder · American · 20th c.

American Walmart founder (1918–1992). Starting from a small store in Arkansas in 1962, his "Everyday Low Price" strategy grew Walmart into the world's largest retailer. Driving to stores in a pickup truck, he remained personally connected to the ground-level operations throughout. A supreme case study of how a simple idea, executed with relentless discipline, can transform an entire industry.
