Malcolm X

EIE-Q "Visionary Leader" Civil Rights Leader · American · 20th c.

American civil rights leader (1925–1965). Advocating "black pride" and "liberation by force," he offered a radical counterpoint to Martin Luther King's non-violent approach. After leaving the Nation of Islam and converting to Sunni Islam, he showed signs of moving toward racial reconciliation — then was assassinated. His autobiography remains one of the most powerful self-transformation narratives in American literature.

Leading Function+Fe-p (Mission & Prestige)

Growing the NOI from 400 to 40,000 members through speeches alone — pure +Fe-p (Mission & Prestige) in display. "Black man, know your own greatness" as the mission-driven inspiration. "The first time you hear him, you feel seen" — immediate emotional recognition in listeners.

Creative Function-Ni-c (Warning & Divergence)

"The ballot or the bullet" — the warning of a historical divergence as the core of every speech. "If black America integrates with white society, black people will be spiritually annihilated" — the apocalyptic divergence. "The final confrontation with white society is coming."

Vulnerable Function 1+Si-p weak (Comfort & Wellbeing)

Weak +Si-p: the repeated statements "I am prepared to die" and continuing to give speeches the day after his home was bombed. Accepting the ascetic prison life as mission. Comfort consistently subordinated to mission.

Vulnerable Function 2-Te-c weak (Application & Experiment)

Weak -Te-c: the organisations he founded after leaving the NOI (OAAU, MMI) never achieved practical stability — "could not achieve the stability of traditional hierarchical organisation" (researcher Terrill). Prioritising necessity and belief over pragmatic design.

Quadra / Temperament / Club

Quadra: Beta Quadra (Empire) — direct reaction to the -Se-p pressures of ghetto violence and poverty as the core of action. Membership in the Nation of Islam's hierarchical collective order, black nationalist aristocratic vision, and "liberation by force" all align.

Temperament: Linear-Assertive temperament: hammering emotion directly into speeches and action. Unhesitating advance as the basic rhythm of his life.

Club: Humanitarian-Artistic Club: Islam, poetic oratory, and the "black people are a culturally great nation" cultural awakening movement. "Without cultural revolution, no political revolution."

Worldview & Attitude

Beta Quadra — black nationalist supremacism, apocalyptic rhetoric, "liberation by force" — a worldview of structural danger requiring structural confrontation.

Attitude toward Change: Assassinated after the transformation of leaving the NOI. A symbol of hope pointing the direction; his legacy was preserved and amplified by subsequent generations.
