Humanitarians

NF — Spinners of soul and story
Ne・Ni + Fe・Fi (Intuition + Ethics)

Essence of the Group

Humanists and artists weaving meaning and feeling

The Humanitarians Club is the group whose shared axis is the perception functions (Ne, Ni) and the judgment functions (Fe, Fi). Conversation revolves around the spiritual, philosophical, artistic, literary, and humanitarian. Talk turns toward what it means to be human, what it means to live, and how to deepen relationships among people — rather than toward practical handling or technical debate. They are the kind of group that forms naturally at religious discussion groups, NGOs and charitable organizations, literary and music circles, and humanities study groups.

Shared Domains of Interest

Spirituality and philosophy
Literature, poetry, music
Humanitarian aid and charity
Religious and ideological debate
Psychology and human understanding
Symbol and narrative

Traits of the Club

Humanitarians are most effective in culture, art, religion, and psychology. They have a particular spiritual disposition tied to anguish over human imperfection, and a tendency toward pessimism. They often dream prophetically, and unlike Socials' talent for collectivism, they prefer closed exchange with chosen people or broadcasting to large audiences. Their day-to-day practicality is poor, but in morally difficult situations, people come to them for help. They worry not about individuals but about humanity as a whole, and from that arise their moral and worldview-level inquiries.

Typical Activities and Group Settings

Interaction in groups of Humanitarians Club members tends to form around shared spiritual, philosophical, artistic, literary, and humanitarian interests. Typical examples: religious discussion groups; humanitarian and charitable organizations (NGOs); literary circles; music groups; salons of poets and writers; reading groups in philosophy and ethics; artists' colonies; psychotherapy groups; educators' study circles. Once interaction deepens, it splits into Heavy Humanitarian and Light Humanitarian.

Suitable Career Domains

Psychotherapy and counseling; psychiatry; education (especially humanities); social welfare; humanitarian aid (NGOs); religious leadership (pastor, monk, priest); literature (novelist, poet); theatre (playwright, actor, director); film and television (screenwriter, director); journalism (social and biographical); HR, recruiting, and organizational development; coaching; yoga and meditation instruction; art therapy; museum curation; thinkers and philosophers (ethics and humanism); children's literature; history and anthropology.

Heavy Humanitarian and Light Humanitarian

This Club splits further into Heavy Humanitarian and Light Humanitarian. Both belong to the same Club and share the domain of interest, but they differ in the scale, character, and social context of their activity.

Heavy Humanitarian (dichotomy: Static)
Ne + Fi (Extraverted Intuition + Introverted Ethics) — individual psychology, dialogic orientation

Addresses fundamental, conscious yet inertial psychological problems of the individual. Carries education in tolerance, individual counseling, dialogue with dissenters. Excels in domains that handle one-to-one human relationships — psychotherapy, education, social welfare, HR consultation. Prudent quadras (δ / -β).

EII-Q EII-D IEE-Q IEE-D
Light Humanitarian (dichotomy: Dynamic)
Ni + Fe (Introverted Intuition + Extraverted Ethics) — mass psychology, theatrical orientation

Addresses dynamic, shifting psychological states. Works on the unconscious and the suggestible parts of people through dramatic, symbolic, and narrative expression. Excels in domains that move emotion and crowd — theatre, film, fiction, poetry, religious leadership. Resolute quadras (β / -δ).

Cubic Structure of the Eight Types

In the 32-type system this Club contains eight types, placed at the vertices of a cube along three axes.

Value Axis (X) Heavy Humanitarian ↔ Light Humanitarian
Rationality Axis (Y) Irrational (Perception-leading) ↔ Rational (Judgment-leading)
Democratic / Aristocratic Axis (Z) Democratic ↔ Aristocratic

Structural Cube — Type Placement

Compatibility Cube — Model K Relations Map

Each edge and diagonal of the cube corresponds precisely to a different relation in Model K. This is a universal structure shared by all four Clubs.

X-axis edges (value axis) = Compass relation
Y-axis edges (rationality axis) = Mirror relation
Z-axis edges (Democratic/Aristocratic) = Adaptive relation
Diagonal (3-axis difference) = Quasi-Identity relation
Value axis = Compass relation Rationality axis = Mirror relation Democratic/Aristocratic = Adaptive relation EIE-Q Mentor EIE-D Hero IEI-Q Dreamer IEI-D Prophet EII-D Empath EII-Q Philosopher IEE-D Publicist IEE-Q Counselor

※ Mirror (strongest along the edge), Compass, and Adaptive relations correspond to the three cube axes. Types differing on all three axes are in the Quasi-Identity relation.

Face-Diagonal (Two-Axis Difference) Relations

The face diagonals of the cube (types differing on two axes) also correspond to specific relations:

  • Different on Value + Rationality axesTranscendence relation
  • Different on Value + Democratic/Aristocratic axesDistance relation
  • Different on Rationality + Democratic/Aristocratic axesCodependency relation

Characteristics of Internal Relations

A Club contains no Duality pairs. Internal relations are composed mainly of Compass, Mirror, Adaptive, and Quasi-Identity; full agreement of values and deep psychological complementarity are not assumed. As a result, a Club:

  • Is highly active and productive in shared-theme discussion and activity
  • Is not suited to long-term intimacy or shared living; members naturally diverge into their own Quadras over time
  • Strongly contributes to the formation of specialty and professional identity
  • Internal cohesion is supported by Mirror (strong mutual understanding within the same Quadra) and Compass (the bridge between Heavy and Light)

How This Club Sees the Other Clubs

Cross-Club perceptions appear when each group is viewed through the lens of activity and interest. Once interaction deepens, Quadra-level perception takes priority.

Other ClubHumanitarians' view
ResearchersAdmires Researchers' intellectual exploration empathetically, but is bewildered by their "lack of interest in people."
PragmatistsTends to see Pragmatists as either gruff and cold, or as dependable for their practical skill — at the two extremes.
Humanitarians
SocialsSees Socials as comfortable companions, yet feels their interests and pursuits are too shallow.
