Otto von Bismarck

SLE-D "Conqueror" Chancellor · German · 19th c.

German Chancellor (1815–1898). Through Realpolitik — symbolised by the "Blood and Iron" speech — he won three wars against Denmark, Austria, and France to unify Germany. Simultaneously introducing the world's first social insurance system while suppressing the socialist movement, he embodied the paradox of conservative revolution. Dismissed by Kaiser Wilhelm II in 1890, he became the symbol of what Germany lost.

Leading Function-Se-p (Victory & Dominance)

"Blood and Iron" speech — "great questions are decided not by speeches and majority votes, but by blood and iron." Directly suppressing and unifying Germany through 3 wars (Denmark, Austria, France). The master of power seizure through direct structural control.

Creative Function+Ti-c (Precision & Thoroughness)

Precisely designing the diplomatic strategy for German unification — simultaneously constructing an alliance network in which each of 3 countries felt it was the isolated one. "Hearing God's footsteps in history and leaping to grasp the hem of his garment."

Vulnerable Function 1-Fi-p weak (Compassion & Consideration)

Weak -Fi-p: upon the fall of patron Roon, immediately ingratiating himself with the new power holder (same pattern as Richelieu). "For national interest, personal loyalty and friendship mean nothing."

Vulnerable Function 2+Ne-c weak (Hypothesis & Imagination)

Weak +Ne-c: economic policy "often unsound improvisation" (Britannica) — weak long-term economic vision. Failing to build "democratic institutions" in the unified Germany — strong at "maintaining present power" but weak at "designing the long-term world order."

Quadra / Temperament / Club

Quadra: Beta Quadra (Empire) — builder of the "German Empire" as Beta aristocratic hierarchy. "The state cannot exist without powerful authority" — Beta mission conviction.

Temperament: Flexible-Maneuvering temperament: introducing universal suffrage as a conservative while suppressing socialism and creating social security. "Use all means for the end" — treating ideological positions as instruments.

Club: Pragmatist Club — "managing politics through organisation and law" as the single focus. Spy networks, administrative reform, alliance management — institutional and systemic power maintenance.

Worldview & Attitude

Negativistic threat recognition — "think from the threat first" as the foreign policy imperative. Trust in institutional order as the only reliable defence.

Attitude toward Change: Executing German unification as a precisely engineered realistic plan — the chancellor who built the Second Reich through staged military-diplomatic genius.
