EIE-D “Hero” is a person of passion — one who holds up a stirring conviction, encourages others, and draws people together toward a future not yet seen.

When something moves the Hero deeply, they let that emotion show without hiding it and carry it to those around them. They share joy and indignation alike without reserve, breathe heat into a stagnant room, and gather people’s hearts into a single direction. That heat flares up like fireworks and then subsides, switching swiftly to the next thing ── yet beneath it lies an unwavering, lifelong conviction: “this feeling can change the world for the better.” Their day-to-day interests may drift, but this one point at the core never wavers, however many years pass.

What they rely on is neither title nor precedent. Can I truly accept this in my heart; is it right as a human being ── it comes down to that one point. They dislike those who trade on their status, and they will not follow an order that strays from human decency, even one from above. Faced with someone being trampled unjustly, they cannot stay silent, and for those they must protect they will become a shield themselves. When they lead, it is not by command but by inviting others with enthusiasm — “let’s do this together” — counting on each person’s strength and drawing them in as equal comrades ── and around that warmth and energy, people naturally gather.

What they long for is a companion who will quietly receive their swirling feelings and give them a line of reasoning, and a cause worth burning for. It is beside someone who can calmly sort out their surging emotion and their intuition about the future and turn it into a sure outlook ── that the Hero stops rushing, and steps out farther than anyone. Deftly using pitch and pauses, they carry the topic at hand forward into the future — “here is where this leads,” “so here is what we should do” — drawing listeners into a story. Rather than commanding, they invite with a proposing style — “let’s do this together” — and draw out the other person’s motivation. Even an ordinary event begins to take on meaning when this person tells it.

Surprisingly, the Hero is in fact quite capable of reading the alternative possibilities and unexpected viewpoints lying behind things, and of sensing others’ true feelings and motives to soften tangled emotions. Finding hidden options, scooping up the subtleties of another’s heart ── that latent power is, in truth, considerable.

But they themselves place no weight there. Rather than laying out many possibilities or gently tending to the delicate feelings of each person before them, their attention turns toward the one stirring conviction, and toward gathering everyone into one. Though capable, they naturally let it go, feeling that “this is not the place for me to settle” ── and this is one of the keys to understanding the Hero.

Gifted as they are with the power to stir feeling, when it comes to drawing it to a single point and giving it a framework, the Hero suddenly grows unsteady (-Ti-p). How to give structure to overflowing feelings, how to verify the reality underfoot ── supporting that on their own is where they are least capable. This is exactly why they are deeply drawn to a presence who will quietly receive their heat and put it in order.

This appears as “the fulfillment of unshakable logic and a sure outlook.” The one who most excels at exactly this power is the dual Inspector (LSI-Q). With calm logic and a sense of how things unfold over time, they run a line of reasoning through the Hero’s swirling feelings and turn an over-hurried pace into something grounded — the finest complement of all.

Where the Hero is most fragile is in attending to their own comfort (-Si-p). Absorbed in a mission, they notice neither their own fatigue, nor their hunger, nor their poor condition. The strength to keep running inexhaustibly is, turned over, also the weakness of overlooking the signal that says “time to rest.” Unshaken in a crisis, they are surprisingly fragile before the small tiredness of ordinary times.

This is not a flaw to be blamed. It is a place that eases little by little — by pausing now and then to care for oneself, and by keeping close someone who can set daily life in order. Precisely because the Hero is absorbed in challenges, a presence that quietly guards the ground beneath them becomes precious.

They judge people by substance, not title; they raise their voice against injustice without flinching; and for those they must protect they step to the front themselves. Delivering what they feel candidly, warmly, and straight ── that passion and driving force is this person’s foundation. Staying calm precisely in a crisis, and the sheer strength to inspire people and carry them through hardship, is also one of the Hero’s great qualities.

What trips them up is the flip side of that inexhaustible passion.

Their heat does not last for daily logistics or steady, plodding work, and sometimes their heart moves on to another interest before a grand vision they launched can bear fruit (though their single-minded devotion to the cause itself is another matter). When absorbed, they tend to overlook their own fatigue and the signals around them that say “we’re nearing the limit.” And the moment they feel their good will has not been fairly rewarded, they may suddenly put up a wall.

Yet these are less flaws than the reverse side of living deeply by one’s convictions. They need not shoulder all the fine-grained care and steady logistics alone. Rather than having every procedure micromanaged, they spring into motion when given the discretion of “this challenge is yours to lead.” They adapt vividly to fields full of change and challenge — startup phases, project-based or event-based settings. Daily reports and routine paperwork rarely stir their motivation; when it comes to conveying results, dynamic methods — “speaking, showing, performing” — are by far their strong suit.

Concretely, roles that move people’s hearts and let them exercise expression in the moment suit them well: arenas of direct expression such as actor, MC, musician, or director; fields where impact and impression translate directly into results, such as politics, media, advertising, and sales; work that moves people through passion, such as a seminar instructor or a public communicator ── a path of pouring one’s outlook on life into literature, music, or painting also suits this person well.

The Hero is not merely “one of the 32 types.” They belong at the same time to a number of groups that gather people of similar nature. A portrait that no single axis can reveal rises up from the overlap of several groups.
